Newsletter - 20th November 2017

A big thank you is needed to all staff, children and members of the Nightingale community for how they welcomed our visitors from Shanghai.  There were some days where we had lots of teachers and representatives from the Department for Education.  All visitors were very impressed with the learning that was taking place, the behaviour of the children and the atmosphere in the school.  Mr Jennings did a great job in organising the whole event.  Mr Lui and Mrs Tao have been so impressed with the learning at Nightingale that they have asked if we can join them as a ‘sister school’.

Christmas Dinner

A reminder that we will be having our school Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 13th December.  Mrs Guy and her staff will be preparing a  Christmas dinner with all the trimmings!  Children (and staff) are also invited to wear their festive jumpers on this day.

Injuries to children

Schools can be a busy place and sometimes children have accidents.  Our procedure is to refer the child to a qualified first aider who will check that the child is ok.  We will then fill out an injury form for the class teacher to share with you at the end of the day which explains the type of injury and what actions were taken.  If the child has a significant bump to the head, we call a parent and advise that they are taken to the GP to be checked out.
